Overview
The objective of the A+ Computer Technician
Program is to train and prepare individuals to become entry-level
computer service technicians; able to build, upgrade and repair Personal
Computers (PC’s). After completion of the program, students are trained to
become certified technicians who possess the knowledge and skills essential for
a successful entry-level position as a computer service technician. In order to gain a CompTIA A+
Certification, students must pass the applicable exam as administered by
CompTIA.
Targeted Audience
The CompTIA A+: IT Technical certification is targeted for
individuals who work or intend to work in a mobile or corporate technical
environment with a high level of face-to-face client interaction. Job titles in
some organizations which are descriptive of the role of this individual may be:
Enterprise technician, IT administrator, field service technician, PC
technician, etc.
Program
Description
The core training for this program is defined by the competencies
emphasized by CompTIA A+ Essential’s curriculum. Upon graduation from the A+ Computer
Technicians Program, students will demonstrate a solid understanding of personal
computer (PC) hardware. They will
be able to identify different components of PCs and describe their function,
perform basic disk storage device management tasks, install software (operating
systems and applications), identify and troubleshoot basic hardware and software
failures, and manage files using both graphical user and command line
interfaces.
Please note: For relevant CompTIA A+ Certification, the student
must sit for and pass the following exams:
